“I yam what I yam and dats all what I yam” – Popeye The Sailor Man

I am sure that everyone still remember Popeye the sailor, his pipe, his whistle, and without a doubt, his secret for super strength – spinach.

“I’m strong to the finish ’cause I eats me spinach.” ― Popeye the Sailor Man

Why spinach? Well, back then spinach was superfood. Many people in the Thirties believed spinach held 10 times more iron than it really did. And this is all because of a scientific mistake – a misplaced decimal point in an 1870 medical journal. In reality spinach may not have been as powerful as they thought, however, it is still something good to consume, being rich in both vitamins and minerals.

What do we need to prepare Popeye power smoothie?

½ pineapple

1 large handful spinach

1 ripe avocado

1 glass coconut milk

1 spoon wheatgrass powder

Blend everything until smooth and enjoy delicious green smoothie.
