Homemade bread rolls

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day 🙂 It gives you energy, helps you to stay focus at work or school and kick-starts your metabolism. I usually eat something healthy for my breakfast… like porridge with fruits or granola with yogurt. But from time to time I like to treat myself with freshly baked bread rolls spread with my favourite plum jam 🙂 Here is the recipe for soft, fluffy and quickly disappearing bread rolls. They are not difficult to prepare, but you will need time and patience for yeast to work. Enjoy 🙂

Ingredients:

570 g flour
12 g instant yeast or 24 g fresh yeast
175 ml milk + 10 ml for yeast
85 g butter
4 tsp sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp salt

Method:

Warm up milk in microwave for approx. 30 – 45 second. In glass jar mix 10 ml milk, yeast and sugar. Cover with cloth and leave for 10 min to activate. In a large bowl combine all other ingredients, adding yeast mixture at the end. Knead dough until smooth (I used kneading mixer, after hands). If it sticks too much, then sprinkle a little with flour. Leave dough in a large bowl covered with cloth or foil for 1 h to grow.

After 1 h dough will increase its size. Take it out of the bowl and knead for a while. Shape dough into a long roll and divide into 12 parts. Create a ball from each part. Place each ball on baking tray (lined with baking paper) at a distance of about 1.5 cm from each other. Cover them with cloth and leave it to grow for another 1 h.

After 1 h, bread rolls will increase its size, then milk-wash or egg-wash each bread roll. Bake for 15 minutes in preheated oven in 190 C.
